We are offering an exciting opportunity in Rochester, New York, for an Estimator to become a part of our team within the construction industry. The Estimator will be primarily responsible for understanding project requirements, coordinating with senior estimators to prepare accurate estimates, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities :
- Analyzing and interpreting construction drawings and specifications to accurately understand the scope of the project.
- Assisting senior estimators in preparing comprehensive bid documents and estimates for various projects.
- Establishing contact with potential subcontractors through phone calls, acquiring necessary pricing, and scope information.
- Assisting in the compilation of project estimate books, ensuring all documents are accurate and complete.
- Maintaining regular communication with subcontractors, vendors, and team members via phone and email to collect necessary data for estimates.
- Providing administrative support to the Estimator and Director of Construction, assisting in managing project timelines, and maintaining updated records of bids and estimates.
- Leveraging strong communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
- Utilizing organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Applying knowledge of construction drawings and labor estimates in daily tasks.
- Preparing and delivering cost estimates while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with construction drawings is required.
- Knowledge of general construction processes and procedures.
- Ability to perform labor estimates in a timely and accurate manner.
- Experience in preparing detailed and comprehensive estimates.
- Proficiency in preparing cost estimates, including material, labor, and time costs.
