We are on the lookout for a GIS Programmer Analyst to join our team in the local government sector based in Tampa, Florida. As a GIS Programmer Analyst, you will be tasked with developing, implementing, and maintaining software applications. You will also work with large datasets, convert data between various formats, and develop Power BI reports and dashboards. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement software applications to meet organizational needs.
Analyze requirements and design suitable solutions.
Maintain existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects.
Work with large datasets in a relational database environment.
Convert data between different formats to ensure third-party integration.
Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to support data analysis and decision-making processes.
Participate in application testing and quality assurance processes.
Provide end user training and support for applications.
Document new and existing systems, workflows, and processes.
Keep abreast of software development trends and best practices.
Utilize skills in Documentation, ArcGIS Server, and GIG Technologies to perform tasks effectively.
Requirements
Proficiency in GIG Technologies is essential for the role.
A strong understanding of ArcGIS Server is required.
Excellent documentation skills are needed, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts.
A relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field is necessary.
Familiarity with the local government sector would be advantageous.
Proven experience in GIS programming and analysis is required.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically are necessary.
