We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Government Grants Coordinator in the non-profit sector based in Chicago, Illinois. This role will involve a variety of tasks related to government funding and compliance, as well as financial and accounting duties. Responsibilities:• Research and evaluate potential government funding opportunities in collaboration with the finance and program teams. • Act as a point of contact for all government grant related matters, including but not limited to reports, amendments, contract documents, and audits.• Develop, submit and manage grant proposals, budgets, and applications in accordance with grant requirements.• Coordinate all annual audits, monitoring visits, and city licensing matters, including the drafting and submission of corrective action plans.• Maintain and update the government grant tracking system, government files, and related information systems.• Foster and manage relationships with government agency staff overseeing government-funded programs.• Ensure the attendance of all required meetings by government funders.• Assist in the development of budgets and financial reports for new and potential program activities.• Prepare monthly vouchers for city, state, and federal contracts, book government revenues and receivables, and manage journal entries for expenses related to various government grants.• Reconcile revenues between the donor database and accounting software, record adjustments to revenues, and manage both government grants and other receivables.• Provide accounting support during the annual financial audit, including the management of restricted revenues.• Develop the annual government grants budget and provide regular projections.• Attend all finance department organizational meetings and trainings.
