We are currently seeking a Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Macon, Georgia. This role is primarily concerned with the detailed management of I-9 forms in accordance with U.S. eligibility to work guidelines. The position is a short-term contract role that involves maintaining precise and confidential records, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, and assisting with other HR administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the secure storage and retrieval of confidential records in accordance with organizational and compliance requirements
- Participate in internal audits, external investigations, or compliance reviews in collaboration with various stakeholders
- Correct inaccuracies or omissions on I-9 forms, liaising with HR or other departments as necessary
- Monitor and update expiring I-9 documentation such as work authorizations in a timely manner
- Conduct thorough audits of I-9 forms to ensure adherence to U.S. eligibility to work guidelines and federal regulations
- Stay informed on I-9 policies, E-Verify program guidelines, and employment eligibility laws, suggesting process improvements when necessary
- Train HR team members or hiring managers on best practices for I-9 completion and corrections
- Prepare detailed reports of audit findings and propose corrective actions to ensure ongoing compliance
- Assist with other HR administrative tasks, such as onboarding documentation or compliance reporting, as required
- Must possess proficiency in ADP - Financial Services
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is required
- Familiarity with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode is essential
- Should have working knowledge of Ceridian
- Adeptness in HRMS is necessary
- Prior experience with About Time is preferred
- Effective auditing skills are required
- Must be experienced in conducting Background Checks
- Should have a good understanding of Benefit Functions
- Excellent customer service skills are a prerequisite
