General Responsibilities
Lead the strategic and operational management of the organization's critical IT infrastructure, ensuring robust performance, reliability, and adherence to service level agreements. This encompasses the lifecycle management of core systems, including servers, data storage, and network infrastructure. The role also champions the delivery of foundational IT services like communication, internet access, identity management, network security, and remote connectivity. This position serves as a key interface, understanding and advocating for business unit technology requirements.
Essential Job Functions
- Strategically procure and manage IT hardware and software. Oversee data protection strategies (backup, recovery, security) and end-user support systems.
- Direct daily IT operations, optimizing workflows, establishing priorities, and meeting timelines. Engage with stakeholders to foster partnerships and solve problems. Guide server, network, and storage administration teams.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of information systems, systems analysis, and software development.
- Architect, deploy, and refine security protocols to safeguard digital assets and network infrastructure. Implement security controls and respond to security incidents.
- Implement, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and internet connectivity. Monitor network health and perform maintenance. May analyze website performance and contribute to network planning. May lead support teams and manage network security.
- Engineer and implement solutions to complex application, system administration, and network challenges. Drive systems management and integration.
- Contribute to the development of technology goals, policies, and procedures. Evaluate technology use and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate on network architecture initiatives. Design and prototype equipment configurations. Develop and deliver training. Create design presentations and proposals.
- Develop network documentation and specifications.
- Contribute to project timelines, budget adherence, and cost control for IT initiatives.
- Partner with the IT Security Analyst on infrastructure security, data encryption, and firewalls. Develop disaster recovery and data protection plans.
- Collaborate with the IT Security Analyst on security incident review and prevention. Implement data access controls. Participate in risk assessments and testing.
- Provide architectural guidance and oversee client/server infrastructure management.
- Maintain computer networks and related environments. Implement data backup and disaster recovery. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues. Configure and maintain email and anti-malware solutions.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Experience
- 5 years managing complex, geographically dispersed Microsoft-based networks, including deployments, monitoring systems, network architecture, and work with server, switching/routing, and storage technologies. Experience managing network protocols and security controls, coordinating with service providers, and vendor management.
- 3 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Certifications: Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate
