NOC Engineer

Description

Responsibilities:

Handle the scheduling of EDC workload for the respective buildings

Coordinate the movement of equipment between rooms, floors, and buildings

Translate IT and vendor requests into actionable work orders

Conduct daily reviews of all outstanding scope requests (Tickets)

Ensure the accurate ordering of appropriate facilities work

Perform server configurations and equipment troubleshooting

Assemble server equipment for installation and verify all network connections

Manage equipment decommissions and re-locations to optimize cabinet space

Initiate power requests with the infrastructure team and coordinate with electrical contractor to meet all Service Levels

Monitor environmental conditions and maintain cleanliness of technology spaces

Support building power downs and provide detailed post-mortem reports of all troubleshooting activities

Provide on-call support as required and escort IT vendors without badges in the data center

Manage installation requests from initiation to closure and allocate rack position for equipment installation

Accept delivery of equipment from staging and coordinate scheduling and delivery of equipment to installation location

Label all equipment front and rear and perform walk-through with Communication Room Group cabling group to assist installations

Prepare customer turnover package and perform turnover walkthroughs with customers

Act as on-site contact for vendor walkthroughs for Communications Rooms and support equipment "go live" for IT Business Units

Accept all delivered circuits and support, troubleshoot and perform break-fix work in conjunction with Communication Room Group, vendor, and customers

Develop Method of Procedures (MOP) for single-mode fiber installs, perform quality assurance tests according to specifications

Update the various inventory databases each time a device is visited and perform audits and inventories of Equipment in Communication Room.

Requirements

Applicants must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a NOC Engineer role or similar position.
Demonstrable proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is required.
Familiarity with Cisco Routers is a critical requirement for this role.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of Cisco Technologies.
Experience with Cloud Technologies is necessary for this position.
Applicants should have practical experience with Juniper NetScreen.
AB Testing skills are a significant plus for this role.
Candidates with experience in Active Directory will be given priority.
Knowledge of Backup Technologies is required.
Applicants should have a working understanding of Circuit Board.
Proficiency in Computer Hardware is a crucial requirement for this role.
Familiarity with Physical layer or layer 1 is necessary for this position.
Candidates should have a good understanding of PDU.
Experience with Dimm is a significant plus for this role.
Skills in Fiber Optics are required.
Candidates with practical experience in Dell Poweredge Servers will be given priority.
