A leading law firm in the Pacific Northwest is looking to add a Patent Prosecution Paralegal to their Intellectual Property department. Candidates with 3 YOE in Patent Prosecution will be considered. This position can sit in either Portland or Seattle and is a hybrid role.
Responsibilities :
- Dealing with US and international patent applications, including application filings and formal documentation.
- Communicating effectively with foreign associates regarding deadlines, formal documents, and prosecution inquiries.
- Assisting with research and investigations, including searches of US and foreign patent records.
- Maintaining and updating patent forms and reports.
- Handling changes in patent properties post-registration, such as drafting reassignments, security interest agreements, and release of interest agreements for US patents and patent applications.
- Preparing cost estimates for filing foreign patent applications and PCT national phase applications using specialized software.
- Learning and assisting practitioners with the patent and trademark docket software program.
- Maintaining organization of patent files and preparing, indexing, and reviewing documents for delivery, storage, and destruction.
- Handling new client file intakes and new counsel transfers.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
