We are offering a contract for a permanent position as a Payroll Accountant in Litchfield, Minnesota. In this role, you will be managing various accounting tasks, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, inventory, and general ledger entries.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of biweekly payroll
- Handle accounts payable and receivable procedures efficiently
- Perform regular postings of journal entries in Quickbooks
- Administer the receipt and posting of overhead expenses-related vendor invoices in Quickbooks
- Conduct bank reconciliation and facilitate end-of-month book closings
- Generate on-demand reports using Quickbooks
- Ensure compliance with state sales tax reporting
- Perform other tasks as assigned, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Utilize Quickbooks and other industry-specific software for various accounting tasks
- Handle confidential employee situations or issues with utmost professionalism and discretion
- Multi-task effectively, including answering phones, responding to emails, and researching transactions while maintaining work accuracy
- Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining work quality
- Use Excel to create and read formulas, generate graphs for analysis, and utilize basic functions.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Payroll Accountant or similar role
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Experience with Multi-state Payroll is required
- Ability to Post Journal Entries accurately and timely
- Solid understanding of General Ledger functions
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is desirable
- Proven experience in Month End Close procedures
- Knowledge of Payroll Taxes and compliance
- Experience with Sales Tax calculations and reporting
