We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Analyst to join our client, a reputable manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of financial data, providing analytical support, and assisting in month-end close processes. The Accounting Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to support cost analysis, inventory management, budgeting, and financial reporting, ensuring that financial activities align with company goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights into cost trends, margins, and budget variances.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports, including profitability analysis and cost breakdowns.
- Cost Accounting & Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate cost accounting systems to track direct and indirect manufacturing costs.
- Analyze and allocate overhead costs, including labor, materials, and manufacturing expenses.
- Assist in managing inventory valuation and reconciliation.
- Month-End Close:
- Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring all journal entries are accurate and timely.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist in resolving discrepancies.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure all financial data is complete for reporting.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support the finance team in preparing budgets and forecasts for manufacturing operations.
- Analyze budget variances and assist with explanations for significant discrepancies.
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and financial regulations.
- Assist in the preparation for external audits and maintain necessary documentation.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with other teams to streamline operations and ensure accurate cost tracking.
- Other Duties:
- Support other ad hoc financial analysis and projects as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly cost accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and cost structures.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Attention to detail with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.
Salary : $85,000 - $105,000
