Sr. Accountant

We are looking to add a Senior Accountant to the Honolulu Team of Full-Time Engagement Professionals. This role involves managing monthly journal entries, prepaid expenses, and accrual schedules, while also supporting broader accounting functions and financial reporting. As a Senior Accountant your responsibilities will build from your prior experience/core competencies while developing tertiary and new skills. Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Hawaii due to the nature of the job requirements.Responsibilities:• Oversee the preparation and recording of accurate and timely journal entries related to construction projects, operating expenses, and general ledger.• Ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures by monitoring and validating monthly financial transactions.• Maintain the integrity of the accounting system by reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies promptly.• Manage detailed schedules for prepaid expenses, ensuring timely expense recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards.• Collaborate with project managers to proactively identify prepaid changes related to contracts or purchases.• Develop and manage structured accrual schedules for ongoing and completed construction projects.• Ensure accurate and timely recording of accrued expenses, such as vendor payments, insurance costs, and subcontractor charges.• Facilitate adjustments to accruals based on project milestones and end-of-period requirements.• Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliation preparation and financial statement reviews.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as project management, procurement, and accounts payable to ensure smooth financial operations.• Assist in maintaining regulatory compliance, including GAAP standards and audit readiness.
