Sr. Accountant

Salary: $90000.00 to $110000.00 yearly

Description

We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to become a part of our team based in Fairfax, Virginia. The role entails performing comprehensive reviews of general ledger accounts, supervising the loan and deposit application as it integrates with the Bank’s general ledger suite, and maintaining the integrity of each account.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily examination of general ledger accounts
• Supervise the integration of loan and deposit application with the Bank's general ledger suite
• Ensure the integrity of each account within the general ledger is maintained
• Perform timely reconciliations for accounts and identify reconciling items
• Communicate identified issues and recommendations for resolution in a timely manner
• Handle the processing of company-wide payroll including all employee-initiated changes to payroll vendor
• Ensure the completion and approval of time cards by the respective Supervisor before processing
• Utilize Microsoft Excel in the execution of tasks and responsibilities.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with a strong understanding of its advanced functions.
• Must have experience in general ledger functions and month/year-end close processes.
• Knowledge in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is mandatory.
• The candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential.
• The applicant should be detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively.
• Experience with accounting software and digital tools is beneficial.
• Must have a strong ethical framework and unquestionable integrity.
• Detail-oriented certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
