Key Responsibilities
- Cost Accounting Management:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead.
- Maintain cost records and update standard cost models for all products.
- Perform cost allocations and ensure cost accuracy for inventory, production, and finished goods.
- Work with production teams to monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods inventories.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports and variance analyses.
- Provide insights into cost performance, highlighting discrepancies between actual and budgeted expenses.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts for manufacturing costs.
- Inventory Management:
- Support the physical inventory count and reconciliation process.
- Assist with the tracking and reporting of inventory levels, working closely with the supply chain and operations teams.
- Cost Analysis & Process Improvement:
- Analyze cost trends and identify areas for cost reduction or process improvement within the manufacturing operations.
- Recommend cost-saving initiatives and contribute to the implementation of cost optimization strategies.
- Provide financial analysis and support to management to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Audit & Compliance:
- Ensure that cost accounting processes comply with internal controls, company policies, and financial regulations.
- Assist in audits related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and financial reporting.
- Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Work closely with production, procurement, and engineering teams to understand manufacturing processes and cost drivers.
- Collaborate with other finance team members on projects to enhance financial reporting and forecasting accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred but not required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 plus years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial modeling, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, data analysis).
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and derive meaningful insights for management.
Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
