Description

Our global content client is seeking 2-3 experienced Automotive Technical Editors/Writers for a short-term project focused on refining translated automotive manuals. The ideal candidates will be responsible for ensuring the translated content, including user manuals, service manuals, and parts catalogs, is adapted to meet U.S. standards with clarity and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and refine translated automotive content to align with American terminology and conventions.
• Edit and proofread user manuals, service manuals, and parts catalogs for clarity, accuracy, and readability.
• Ensure technical accuracy and consistency throughout the documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper alignment with client specifications.
• Provide recommendations for improving translated content and streamlining processes.
• Meet project deadlines and maintain high-quality standards throughout the project.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer/Editor, in the automotive industry.
• Strong background in editing and refining technical documentation, particularly manuals and catalogs.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Technical Writer or similar role
• Proven track record of creating and maintaining manuals such as user manuals, technical manuals, operating manuals, and maintenance manuals
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, and/or knowledge of XML and EXtensible Markup Language
• Ability to adapt content for U.S. English and automotive-specific terminology.
• Excellent attention to detail and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with automotive repair or technical content is a plus.
• Familiarity with AP Style writing and editing
• Ability to conduct audits and provide necessary corrections
• Strong skills in content editing, copy editing, and copyediting
• Experience in the automotive industry is a required
• Experience working with service catalogs and product catalogs is desirable
