Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting operations of our law firm. This role is critical in handling billing, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), reconciliations, trust accounts, payroll, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in law firm accounting, including trust accounting and billing.This position will be the main point of contact for all accounting-related matters, working closely with an external CPA firm when necessary. The firm has offices in Florida and New York, and the candidate will be responsible for managing multiple accounts across both locations.Key Responsibilities:Oversee all bookkeeping and accounting functions, including billing, AP, AR, and general ledger maintenance.Manage trust accounts (IOTA and real estate trust accounts) and ensure compliance with industry regulations.Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.Coordinate payroll processing using ADP (currently managing payroll for 15 employees across two offices).Work with QuickBooks Desktop (transition to Timeslips may be considered).Utilize electronic billing platforms, ensuring proper reconciliation of incoming payments.Prepare financial reports, manage cash flow, and assist with audits when needed.Scan and deposit checks using desktop scanning tools.Interface with the firm’s accountant, payroll provider, and financial institutions to ensure smooth financial operations.Preferred Qualifications & Experience:Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.7 years of experience in a similar role managing accounting for a law firm or professional services firm.Strong knowledge of trust accounting, legal billing, and reconciliations.Experience with QuickBooks Desktop, Timeslips, ADP, and electronic billing systems.Ability to manage multiple accounts across different locations (Florida & New York).Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.Excellent organizational and communication skills.This is a great opportunity for a seasoned bookkeeper/accountant to take ownership of the accounting function in a growing law firm.
