Director of Construction and Development Accounting

We are a Commercial Design Build Firm in search of a Controller.

Job Summary:

The Director of Construction and Development Accounting provides comprehensive support the organization through Financial Leadership, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Project Management Support, Compliance and Controls.

Financial Leadership:

• Oversee all accounting functions, including budgeting, financial reporting, cost analysis, and project profitability tracking.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and industry regulations.
• Manage and monitor cash flow, ensuring adequate funding for projects.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial performance and projects success.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
• Monitor construction project contracts and change orders.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.

Project Management Support:

• Work closely with project managers to monitor expenses and ensure projects stay within budget.
• AIA billing process
• Provide financial expertise and support to project teams.
• Participate in project meetings and provide financial insights.

Compliance and Controls:

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in the construction industry.
• Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
• Conduct subcontractor prequalification reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
• Construction industry experience
