Pet Food - Business Development Manager
As a Business Development Manager with Reiser, you will drive Reiser’s petfood market growth. You will be responsible for understanding the petfood market and opportunities for the Reiser portfolio. You will develop a strategy and plan on how to best grow this market. In this plan, you will identify the top customers that require a national approach and serve as key account manager (“KAM”) for these customers. You will represent Reiser in relevant trade associations, develop relationship at key customers, understand the organizations that we should serve, develop sales strategies that help our local sales efforts, and support the sales at the local level. You will work closely with regional and national sales organizations, product managers, and our Customer Service team to support and grow Reiser’s petfood market.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support and serve the regional sales team to advance sales in the petfood market.Actively engage in industry associations representing Reiser and its partners.Develop and maintain a close relationship with key decision makers at the national petfood accounts.Define and serve as the KAM for the top five active 5 national petfood customers. Leveraging the regional sales team to facilitate sales.Work closely with Reiser product managers to influence requirements / offerings to the petfood industries.Be an internal trusted advisor to the sales organization to support smaller petfood customers.Work closely with process and packaging experts, as well as our food technologists (aka meat heads) to develop and improve the process and packaging knowledge within the petfood space.Actively work with Marketing to influence our position and communication to the petfood market.Articles in trade publications

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering preferred but not required if exceptional experience.Five years of experience selling capital equipment (preferably in food processing / packaging / pet food.Experience selling to the meat / protein industry is highly preferred.Ability to travel overnight approximately 80% during the week.Excellent written verbal and platform skills.Aggressive, enthusiastic and determined individual with a proven track record of success.Understands importance of selling equipment with the added service component and working closely with service team.MS Office suite of products and specifically Word and Excel.Ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task.Comfortable communicating with people on the shop floor to presidents of companies.Personal & Professional Attributes

Position tends to work within normal office hours but will often include evening and perhaps even weekend meetings or travel.High level of social interaction.Often placed in conflict resolution situations.Work is typically sedentary and indoors.This position requires up to 80% travel. Frequent travel is outside the local area and overnight.
