1. Job Purpose/Objective:
This position is responsible for operating sound system and audio cues for live stage productions by operating computer playback systems that provide music for the show, and mastery of the audio cues which are used to enhance the various acts performed during the evening. The incumbent also ensures microphones used by the entertainers are in good working order and all audio equipment are tested and 100% functional before each performance.
2. Essential Job Functions:
Incumbent may perform any or all of the following:
- At the beginning of the shift:
- Turn on Audio System and running test programs to ensure all systems are functional and ready for performance
- Set up and patch laptops and Instant Replay devices which serve as playback systems for the show
- Start house music before doors open for dinner service
- Begin preprogrammed audio/light show one (1) hour prior to show starting
- Power on wireless microphones and check presets
- During Show Operations:
- Cue laptops to begin show music at conclusion of preshow
- Play show music and perform audio cues at appropriate times
- Conclude show with walk-out music and international announcements
- At the end of the shift, shut down breakers and stow microphones in locked cabinet
- Other duties include:
- Equipment maintenance and system tests as necessary
- Follow up meetings with performers and technical director
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested
3. Essential Skills (Minimum qualifications individual must possess when entering position) – i.e. skillsets, education, certifications, etc.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of Audio Systems and Digital Audio Computer Programs
- Attention to detail; willingness and ability to adapt to unforeseen changes in show performance
- Must be available to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Adapt to change, is open to new ideas, take on new responsibilities, handle pressure, adjust plans to meet changing needs
- Meet commitments, work independently, accept accountability, handle change, set personal standards, stay focused under pressure, meet attendance/punctuality requirements
