What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Chef position at Robert's Maine Grill?
Robert's Maine Grill is seeking a head Chef to join our team and continue our mission of serving locally-inspired and sourced dishes. We are a Hospitality Group with several restaurants in the area. So you will benefit from existing have support systems and there is ample room for you to expand your culinary skills.
Primary responsibilities include menu execution, ensuring that all dishes coming out of the kitchen are consistent and have eye appeal, delegating tasks to cooks and kitchen staff, and overseeing product orders. You should have your Safe serve Certificate and be up-to-date on sanitation regulations.
SALARY: Is competitive and as per experience. Some housing available (need to pay rent)
Responsibilities:
- Oversee cooks and kitchen staff
- Create prep schedules and food preparation recipes for staff execution
- Approve and “polish” dishes before they reach the customer
- Plan orders of ingredients according to identified shortages
- Execute dinner, dessert, and lunch menus, including all recipes and ingredient lists
- Modify recipes to meet guests’ needs (gluten free, vegan, no cheese, etc)
- Monitor food inventory and place orders
- Be open to menu experimentation
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
Requirements
- Prior Chef experience, 2 years is preferable
- Hands-on experience
- Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques
- Leadership skills
- Excellent time management abilities
- Familiarity with Health and sanitary regulations
