The Client:
Our client is a globally recognized financial institution with a strong presence in New York and across the Americas. Their Project Finance division specializes in structured, asset-based lending, supporting large-scale infrastructure and energy projects, including renewable and conventional power generation and natural gas midstream developments. They primarily participate in syndicated financings but occasionally act as arrangers or underwriters for project transactions.
What you will achieve in this role:
- Conduct credit risk assessments for structured project finance transactions, ensuring alignment with internal credit policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Analyze financial structures, including adjustments to cash flow models, to evaluate financing feasibility and risk exposure.
- Support the preparation of credit applications, indicative ratings, and financial structuring for project finance deals.
- Review and validate credit documentation, including term sheets and collateral agreements, in collaboration with internal and external legal counsel.
- Monitor and assess market trends in project finance, with a focus on infrastructure and energy sectors.
- Proactively identify potential risks and recommend strategies to mitigate credit exposure.
- Maintain oversight of a growing portfolio, ensuring compliance with established risk parameters.
- Assist in the management of complex transactions, including participation in syndications and underwriting activities.
- Collaborate closely with global risk management and relationship teams to ensure seamless execution of financing solutions.
- Engage in strategic initiatives and special projects as required.
What you must bring to this role:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in project finance or structured lending.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- Must bring hands-on experience in project finance transactions, particularly in infrastructure and energy sectors.
- Must have a strong understanding of structured finance, risk assessment, and credit analysis.
- Must have hands-on experience evaluating model financial structures, including cash flow projections and risk-adjusted returns.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for engaging with internal teams, external partners, and syndication participants.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- English is required; proficiency in German is considered an asset.
