Position Summary:
The Irrigation Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the irrigation department,
including project planning, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of irrigation
systems. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical irrigation knowledge, and a
commitment to excellent customer service. The Irrigation Manager ensures all work is performed
efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards and company values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and schedule all irrigation service.
- Supervise irrigation repairs on commercial and residential properties.
- Provide training, support, and guidance to irrigation technicians.
- Conduct site assessments and create irrigation proposals, including estimates and material lists.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose irrigation system issues (controllers, valves, pumps, wiring, etc.).
- Maintain strong communication with customers regarding system performance, upgrades, and service needs.
- Monitor and ensure proper inventory levels of irrigation materials and tools.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Stay current with irrigation technologies, best practices, and water conservation techniques.
- Track labor hours, job costs, and crew performance.
- Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with company policies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in irrigation systems, including
installation and maintenance.
- Previous leadership or managerial experience in the landscaping or irrigation field.
- Strong knowledge of various irrigation systems (Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, etc.).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Irrigation certification(s) preferred (CIC, CLIA, or similar).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various outdoor conditions, including heat and rain.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, kneel, dig, and stand for long periods.
- Comfortable working with hand tools and machinery.
