The Instructional Designer is responsible for assisting with the research, design, development, and administration of professional development activities for faculty. The incumbent will also collaborate with faculty to design and develop curriculum materials, including course outlines, learning objectives, assessments, and content resources that align with academic standards and promote active, learner-centered engagement.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Collaborate with faculty to provide training and professional development in effective instructional design practices, technology integration, and online course delivery. Offer ongoing support to faculty as they navigate new technologies and teaching methods.Apply instructional design principles to create and improve courses, ensuring they are pedagogically sound, interactive, and accessible. Implement varied teaching strategies, including blended and online learning approaches, to address diverse learning styles.Identify and integrate appropriate educational technologies, tools, and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences. Provide guidance on using learning management systems, multimedia resources, and other digital tools effectively.Collaborate with faculty to design and develop curriculum materials, including course outlines, learning objectives, assessments, and content resources that align with academic standards and promote active, learner-centered engagement.Conduct quality reviews of courses to ensure alignment with established standards, accessibility guidelines, and best practices for online learning.
