JOB
The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of routine and skilled maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Technician ensures facilities are functional for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition. Areas of responsibility include carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC trades work. The Maintenance Technician operates a variety of tools and equipment as needed or required to complete all work orders.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Responsible for routine skilled maintenance for facilities (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and HVAC).Responsible for routine inspections of HVAC systems, replaces filters, identifies and reports more complex maintenance needs to the Director of Facilities.Responsible for checking air handling units once a month, changing filters, and lubricating equipment as needed.Responsible for preventive maintenance on all equipment.Responsible for following safe work practices and making use ofappropriate related safety equipment as required. Responsible for painting when needed. Responsible for keeping all equipment and tools in good working condition.Responsible for assisting with set up for special events as needed.Responsible for checking air compressors weekly.Responsible for lubricating water pumps; winter and summer as needed, no less than once a month.Responsible for lubricating chillers when in season.Responsible for repairs andassembly of all equipment to include diagnostic equipment for differing programs, within their abilities.Responsible for and moving furniture; such as desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and related fittings and fixture at the facilities.Responsible for keeping sewer lines open and flowing properly.Responsible for any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
