What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Ledger Accountant position at ROBINS FINANCIAL CREDIT UNION?
What You’ll Do:
- Complete daily review/reconciliations
- Cash Letter reconciliation; ensuring adjustments are processed in a timely manner.
- Review daily clearing, share & loan, and GL exceptions and post corrections when necessary.
- Reconcile corporate checks, clearing/returning exceptions, processing Declaration of Loss Affidavits, and processing monthly stale dated checks.
- Remit P&I funds for FHLB Chicago, FHLB Atlanta, and FNMA.
- Remit weekly FR2900 figures to the Federal Reserve and maintain required reserve position.
- Calculate and remit backup withholding payments to the IRS semiweekly.
- Post Treasury & Coinstar vouchers along with other member and general ledger vouchers for both the branches and mortgage department daily.
- Compile and submit monthly Treasury billing.
- Calculate and report monthly loan charge off and recovery numbers, along with verifying delinquency totals with Collections and posting R/E foreclosure entries when needed.
- Reconcile all other miscellaneous GLs as assigned.
- Ensure all credit union GLs are reconciled to the balance sheet each month; follow up on discrepancies and items over 90 days outstanding.
- Posts corporate VISA charges to appropriate expense GL accounts, monitoring for accuracy to ensure budgetary guidelines are maintained.
- Calculate Uninsured Shares quarterly.
- Provides backup support to other positions within the department as necessary.
