JOB OVERVIEW
The Shared Services Coordinator (SSC) oversees the receiving, distribution, and shipping of inventory and work-in-progress (WIP) materials to internal customers while staging finished products for external shipment. They implement process improvements for shipping, handling, and receiving teams, collaborating across departments to enhance material flow. Additionally, the SSC directs Shared Service Support staff to efficiently move products through Robinson, ensuring optimal service for both internal and external customers in a fast-paced environment.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Efficiently receive and document products in the ERP system, including inspections and inventory counts.
- Coordinate material movement across inventory, WIP locations, and work centers to ensure smooth and safe operations.
- Prepare, package, and process shipments between Robinson locations, vendors, and customers, collaborating with stakeholders as needed.
- Assess and optimize material flow, implementing improvements for efficiency and on-time delivery.
- Develop and refine processes to enhance operations and meet customer expectations.
- Allocate resources based on department workloads in collaboration with production leadership.
- Work closely with Project Managers to exceed customer expectations.
- Support company initiatives such as safety, LEAN manufacturing, and 6S practices.
- Train and support Shared Service personnel while fostering a cross-functional team.
- Maintain accurate clerical records and prioritize tasks for organizational success.
- Implement new processes, software, and innovations to improve operations.
- Ensure OSHA compliance in partnership with the Safety Team.
- Manage daily scheduling, delegate tasks, and oversee employee performance.
- Maintain the shop floor presence to support employees and monitor job progress.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: high school diploma or equivalent (GED
- Experience: prior experience as expeditor, material coordinator, shipping and receiving personnel, or similar in a manufacturing environment. In addition, experience with barcode scanning and inventory traceability systems.
- Ability to operate a forklift in conjunction with all safety rules and regulations (where applicable) and see the organization’s larger goals and objectives.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing daily schedule and delegation of Work-Center jobs.
- Managing employees to ensure they are performing to expectations.
- Being visible and accessible on the shop floor throughout each day to field employee questions and monitor job progress.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position does not require travel.
