The Coating Technician I is responsible for producing high-quality coated products as specified per Batch Record instructions and in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Safety Practices, and all company policies/procedures.

The Coating Technician I is responsible for producing high-quality coated products as specified per Batch Record instructions and in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Safety Practices, and all company policies/procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Learns to set up, operate, and monitor one or more coating machines (Vector Freund).
- Operates and monitors the heater.
- Cleans room(s), parts, and coating machines as outlined in SOP's.
- Maintains room and machine cleanliness while running production within specified guidelines.
- Mixes the correct solutions per batch records’ instructions.
- Gathers correct components corresponding with the batch records before run.
- Verifies that the machine(s) and equipment have been properly cleaned and nothing is left over from previous production runs.
- Verifies that the filters within the various Vector Freund machines are properly cleaned and well maintained.
- Performs in-process checks for the physical appearance of coated tablets and performs periodic weight checks.
- Properly discharge the tablets after coating and transfer them into containers.
- Labels the filled containers of tablets and stages them for the next production process.
- Completes and checks required production records and documentation.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area at all times.
- Maintain the designated dust collector.
- Follows and adheres to (cGMP's), (SOP's), Standard Safety Practices, and all company
- policies/procedures.
- Observe/comment on the following throughout the batch's run: coating, chipping, capping, erosion, and peeling.
- Notifies lead/supervisor of any discrepancies or issues concerning components or machines.
- Moves containers to the storage area.
- Learns to identify and operate different types of equipment as needed.
- Exercises care in the use of coating equipment and tools.
- Takes initiative to assist the Lead and other members in operating the coating run.
- Performs other projects and/or duties as assigned by management.
- High School diploma/GED
- 1-2 years of work experience in Tablet Production and/or in coating.
- Ability to use a calculator to add, multiply, subtract, and divide decimals and basic units of measure.
- Ability and knowledge in operating the coating machine.
- Candidate will be operating the coating machines, manual/electric pallet jacks, fork-lift, and various other operation machines in the production area
- Communication Skills (Oral & Written) - able to speak clearly, concisely, and accurately in order to ensure effective department operations.

- Competitive Wages, Starting at $20.00 -$23.00/hour, depending on experience.
