Overview
Under the general supervision of the HR Director, the Human Resources Coordinator focuses on recruitment, onboarding, benefits, administration, employee relations, training and development, data analysis, record maintenance, research statistics, native outreach and administrative support to HR Director. This role is to serve as a contact between the HR department and the rest of the organization.
Duties
- Ensure compliance with federal and tribal laws and regulations.
- Recruitment Process: Participate in job fairs, post, maintain and track job listings in really and Linked In, contact applicants, schedule interviews, conduct background checks and drug tests and finalize applications and ensure they are filed.
- Native Outreach: Attend native community and public events, build professional relationships with indigenous leaders, participate in university events to enhance outreach, recruitment and retention efforts aimed at increasing the hiring of Native American Students, while also providing them with training and experience through their work at Robinson Rancheria.
- Involved in training and development and employee relations. Organize employee relations topics to discuss in all staff meetings and prepare relevant documentation for all employees. Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR processes, benefits and general questions.
- Employee Benefits: Inform employees about the benefits plans and any changes that happen to the structure of those benefits, process, enrollments quickly and accurately, manage employee benefits excel spreadsheet, assist employees to enroll in dental, vision and medical insurance plans and resolve employee issues with benefits administrators and insurance providers. Distribute ID badges as part of the benefits enrollment process.
- Training and Development: Maintain program data and tools to train staff and others. Liase with departments to manage and assign training programs. Deliver strategic employee learning and development programs including, but not limited to management and leadership development, onboarding and career development through various modalities including presentations to large or small groups, e-learning and interactive sessions, etc. Support the HR Director in coordinating safety training sessions and enhancing safety protocols.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze HR data to identify trends and patterns, develop and maintain HR dashboards and reports, ensure data accuracy and integrity and stay updated with the largest HR analytics tools and techniques.
- Schedule meetings, job fairs, native public events, employee safety meetings, training sessions, manager meetings, staff meetings, HR events and maintain HR Director's agenda. Gather documents for meetings.
- Maintain and file accurate and confidential records of employee information and HR activities. Perform data entry tasks accurately and in a timely manner to maintain up-to date records. Scan, upload and organize files and One Drive record management.
- Provide high level of administrative support to the HR Director. Draft, edit documentation. Provide research as needed.
- Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests. Participate in organization design efforts to optimize workforce structure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Full Understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Proficiency in Adobe and MS Office. Ability to type 35WPM
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong time management skills.
- Must have the ability to work with people from diverse cultures, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and possess a basic knowledge of Native American communities and always maintain cultural sensitivity.
- Excellent communication skills and valid U.S. Driver license
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in a human resources role or related field
- 2 years of experience in an administration role or related field
