Job Description:
Refugio Ranch Vineyards is seeking an experienced, professional, and passionate wine industry veteran to serve as our Wine Educator. Our Wine Educator hosts intimate groups (maximum of 12 guests/seating) for private, immersive wine tasting experiences at the Refugio Ranch estate vineyard. Our estate vineyard is closed to the public and wine tastings are by appointment only. Tastings are offered Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-4pm.
Qualifications:
The ideal Wine Educator possesses a comprehensive wine knowledge (Sommelier Certification/WSET a huge plus) as well as knowledge of viticultural practices and the Santa Barbara County wine region as a whole.
Our Wine Educator must be able to clearly and effectively convey wine knowledge to guests, while offering a top tier hospitality experience.
Our Wine Educator must eloquently communicate the qualities and values of Refugio Ranch wines with the goal and result of generating sales and adding new wine club members to Refugio Ranch’s membership:
- Adeptly placing orders/generating sales and inputting data into our point of sale system (Commerce7)
- Managing all private tasting appointment bookings via our reservation system (Tock)
- Providing prompt communication with guests (phone, email and/or text) pre and post appointment
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the tasting space at the Refugio Ranch estate.
