What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teaching Assistant position at ROBS?
River Oaks Baptist School is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join our team as a Preschool Teaching Assistant beginning August 2025.
The Preschool Teaching Assistant supports the lead teacher in all aspects. This includes teaching approximately 16-18 students in a self-contained classroom. The developmentally appropriate curriculum includes early literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, outdoor learning, art, music, motor skills, Bible, and character development.
The classroom teacher and assistant are supported by the Preschool Division Head, Assistant Head of Preschool, Preschool Learning Specialist, the Associate Head of School for Academics and the Associate Head of School for Student Support. The students and teaching team are also supported by special area teachers in Bible, art, music and motor skills, and a librarian. Each teacher is an integral part of a grade-level team that works together closely.

Qualifications:
- A vibrant Christian faith and a desire to work in a Christian environment
- A bachelor's degree
- Early childhood teaching certification, alternative teaching certification in early childhood education, or extensive teaching experience in early childhood
- With certification, teaching experience is preferred but not required.
- Able to conform to established policies and procedures and to address issues in a manner that is consistent with existing guidelines for the program
- Able to maintain strong, appropriate relationships with others
- Maintains positive role-modeling at all times
