What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Designer position at Roc Search?
The Senior Civil Designer will lead engineering design projects for residential and commercial development. They will ensure compliance with codes and standards while coordinating with project teams and maintaining effective communication. This role requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively with input from managers, making informed decisions based on company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design work using Civil 3D and ensure adherence to CAD standards
- Develop, modify, and review models, plans, and drawings
- Apply expertise in site drainage, grading, and infrastructure for complex projects
- Coordinate with engineers, CAD designers, technicians, and sub-consultants as needed
- Oversee project design, scheduling, and technical aspects to meet deadlines and budget constraints
- Conduct quality control reviews before project deliverables are released
- Train and mentor CAD drafters, technicians, and engineering interns
- Stay up to date on local, state, and federal regulations
- Manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in AUTOCAD/Civil 3D (Preferred)
- 6 years of experience with Civil 3D in land development engineering (GIS experience preferred)
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Willingness to learn and expand responsibilities
