Pharma Technical Technology (PTT) in Pharma Technical Operations (PT) ensures seamless industrialization and robust technical product management, focusing on safety, maintenance, performance optimization, and scalability.
Roche’s global Manufacturing Science and Technology (gMSAT) oversees commercial products, new technologies, standardization, and risk mitigation, organized by product type and operational teams.
The Technical Product Steward Group Lead, reporting to the Head of global MSAT, ensures seamless industrialization and technical product health from manufacturability to divestment. This role leads a team of technical product stewards to deliver improvements, manage a strategic roadmap, and maintain product quality and reliability. Responsibilities include providing leadership, managing resources, and representing the portfolio in key technical forums and senior interactions. The Group Lead is also part of PTT’s extended leadership team, driving departmental strategy.

- Leads a global team of senior technical product stewards and matrix leaders to oversee and execute technical industrialization and product health activities from launch to divestment. Ensures team alignment with the One Pharma Strategy, PT promises, and PTT/PT outcomes
- Identifies and manages portfolio-level tech transfer risks and mitigation strategies. Oversees execution of master plans for DS or DP based on technical roadmaps and improvement opportunities, ensuring alignment across the product portfolio to deliver global technical initiatives
- Establishes a robust product performance ecosystem leveraging advanced data analytics. Interfaces proactively with Quality assurance to meet quality milestones and escalates significant quality issues and risks to the appropriate leadership teams
- Oversees portfolio-level delivery of root cause analysis and complaints reports. Assesses and deploys corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) as required to ensure ongoing product and process improvement
- Ensures SHE checkpoints are conducted and integrated across the portfolio to enhance product, process, and technology health and sustainability, including incorporating digital advancements
- Provides Global MSAT representation in governance committees and decision-making bodies across Technical Operations. Interfaces with gMSAT, PTT teams, Capability Teams, and other governance bodies as required
- Responsible for the coaching, development, and engagement of a global technical team of senior technical product stewards. Supports talent flow across gMSAT and PTT teams, in line with individual development plans and strategic workforce planning
- Holds an advanced degree in a scientific discipline with at least 12 years of relevant industrial experience in platform-specific process development or manufacturing operations (e.g., DS Bio, DP SM)
- Demonstrates significant senior people leadership experience, leveraging advanced VACC leadership skills to effectively manage and develop teams
- Proven expertise in product technology industrialization for either small or large molecules. Combines strategic clarity with innovative and coaching capabilities, aligning with Roche’s leadership model
- Outstanding communicator with the ability to build connections, encourage feedback, and foster a collaborative environment. Committed to creating an inclusive environment where team members feel safe, valued, and empowered
- Established recognition in industry forums and with key suppliers, enhancing external network relations. Travel requirement is less than 10%
