Who We Are
The Lead Discovery (LD) Department is part of Therapeutic Modalities and Technologies (TMT) within China Innovation Center of Roche (CICoR). LD is cross-modality function that support both small molecule research and antibody discovery. We deliver leading edge science to drive the success of CICoR’s early discovery research activities through strong expertise in lead identification and lead optimization including sample logistics, high throughput screening, protein science, biophysical methods, biochemical and cell-based assays, and X-ray and CryoEM biostructures. Our breadth of capabilities further enable or drive innovative approaches for drug discovery.

The Position

Intern in Lead Discovery Shanghai

We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join Biochemistry and cellular pharmacology group in Lead Discovery. The candidate will be involved in our lead ID efforts in working with senior scientist for internal technology platform development. This individual will implement novel assays including biochemical and cell-based assays. He/she will conduct biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology studies in assay development, compound profiling, and internal technology platform development.

Principle Roles & Responsibilities

• Participate in development and implementation of new assays to support drug discovery
• Implement biochemical and cell-based assays, and perform routine assay for compound profiling
• Participate in development of internal technology platform related with molecular biology, cellular biology or biochemistry area
• Maintain an accurate lab notebook and record all necessary information
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment and comply with relevant SOPs
  
  
  

Who You Are
Candidates with a background knowledge in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology, and interested in assay development, compound profiling and new technology explorure. The successful candidate will have excellent instrumentation skills, communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
