We are currently searching for an Restaurant Server for the Rochester Airport Marriott in Rochester, NY.

Position Purpose:
Responsible for sales of food and beverage to customers and responsible for accurate accounting on guest checks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for seating guests in restaurant.
2. Explains menu items and specialties to guests.
3. Takes guest orders and turns them into kitchen.
4. Provides guests with drinks and refills as needed.
5. Works with kitchen to make sure guest orders are prepared in a timely manner and in accordance with the guests’ wishes.
6. Serves food to guests promptly to ensure proper temperature in accordance with established procedures.
7. Checks with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and beverage service.
8. Promptly and courteously replaces or corrects any items guest deems unsatisfactory in order to maintain guest satisfaction.
9. Uses suggestive selling techniques by suggestion coffee, desserts, or appetizers when an order is placed or after completion of their meal.
10. Ensures that dishes are cleared from tables as guests are through with each meal.
11. Totals and presents guest with check promptly at conclusion of the meal.
12. Thanks guests and invites them to return again soon.
13. Performs any other duties necessary to enhance the guests’ dining experience.
14. Always accept and complete side work assigned to the satisfaction of the Food & Beverage Manager.
15. Familiar with any abbreviation of items on menu.
16. Assists other co-workers when needed.
Minimum Education Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience/Skill Requirements:
Mornings (6am) and weekend availability is a must!
1. Must have a courteous and pleasing personality and a neat and well-groomed appearance.
2. Must possess public relations personality and enjoy meeting people.
3. Must be able to meeting public with poise and be able to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
4. Must be able to perform under pressure.
5. Must be adaptable to hours of work and job requirements.
6. Must be dependable and honest.
7. Must be willing to accept direction in training and constructive comments.
8. Must have general knowledge of food, drinks, garnish, and service times of menu items.
9. Must have knowledge of table set ups, condiments, etc.
10. Must have knowledge of overall food and beverage operation.
11. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
12. 18 years and older due to serving alcohol.

Pay: $10.50 per hour
