ART TEACHER
Rochester Beacon Academy is seeking a full time art teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
Rochester Beacon Academy (RBA) is a 6th-12th grade charter school that places a strong emphasis on providing individualized attention to students. The school has small class sizes, allowing teachers to provide students with focused and personalized instruction. RBA also has a special focus on serving students with special education needs, with close to 80% of the student body receiving such services. The administration and staff are dedicated to providing these students with the support and resources they need to succeed in school and beyond. Your job responsibilities includes but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement art lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse student needs.
- Teach various artistic techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their artistic development.
- Organize and display student artwork within the school and at community events.
- Maintain art supplies and ensure a safe and organized classroom environment.
- Collaborate with other teachers to incorporate art into interdisciplinary projects.
- Encourage students to participate in art competitions, exhibitions, and extracurricular activities.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in art education.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and achievements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- State certification/licensure as an Art Teacher (if applicable).
- Previous experience teaching art in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various artistic techniques and mediums.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their artistic talents.
- Passion for fostering creativity and artistic appreciation.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year depending on experience and qualifications
