Video Director Intern

The Rochester Honkers are in search of an undergraduate student or recent graduate to serve as a PAID Video Director intern for the 2025 season. This internship is available to an individual wishing to pursue a career in sports video production. Modeled after working in minor-league and professional sports, Honkers interns will acquire real-time working experience in a fast-paced and professional environment while having an unforgettable summer at the same time! Internship dates: Mid-May through the second week of August, with the possibility of playoffs Stipend: TBD Duties of the internship may include, but are not limited to: ● Directing the four-camera live HD webcast, including pre-game and post-game shows ● On-the-fly direction of three camera people to obtain correct shots ● Switching through camera angles to air appropriate shots ● Cueing graphic overlays, commercials and highlight clips to be played on the webcast ● Maintain ALL video and broadcast production equipment, including daily set-up and teardown of three camera stations ● Work directly with PrestoSports and Northwoods League to ensure smooth broadcast ● Possibility to assist with other multimedia creation, including video production and editing ● Game day operations, including but not limited to ballpark setup, teardown and other extraneous duties Required Skills: ● Pursuit/possession of a degree in video production, journalism or related field preferred ● Past experience using live television production equipment and video cameras preferred, but not required ● Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro and After Effects a plus ● Energetic "can-do" attitude with a willingness to learn and work as part of a team ● Excellent communication skills (phone, verbal, and written) and listening skills ● Strong computer skills and time management abilities ● Knowledge of the game of baseball and how a baseball game is visually produced Application Instructions:  All interns are expected to work outside of their “internship position” to do what it takes to assist the Honkers in ALL aspects of operations and will be called on to assist and take on many duties and responsibilities. Internship hours can be extremely non-typical of a “work day” including both nights and weekends.
