Job Responsibilities
Direct Service
- Provide individual and group therapy services to culturally diverse undergraduate and graduate student population. Conduct needs assessments, intake evaluations, treatment follow-up, and appropriate referrals. Provide urgent care and crisis intervention. Direct clinical service may occur in the CaPS main office and in embedded locations on campus.
- Develop and deliver mental health outreach and educational programming to campus partners. Occasional programming and special event needs will be delivered in the evenings and on weekends. Certain recurring university events, such as Student 65% 2 of 4 Aug 2021 Orientation, require full staff participation.
- Actively support the graduate training program through design and delivery of didactic training seminars, supervision, and / or assistance with the design and implementation of other related training activities.

Job Summary
Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Counseling and Psychological Services (CaPS) is seeking to fill an opening for a Staff Therapist. This is a full-time, on-campus position. The Staff Therapist provides goal-directed therapy services to RIT students, consults with families and RIT community members, provides educational and outreach programming, and supports the training of graduate trainees in mental health fields. The successful Staff Therapist values a multifaceted approach to supporting student well-being involving strongly linked clinical and training efforts; collaboration with the campus community; mental health prevention / early intervention; and commitment to accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Please note-this position may require the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
