What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wheelchair Bus Driver position at Rochester Medical Transportation Inc?
Responsibilities:
- Drive wheelchair buses to designated destinations in accordance with schedules
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle. Using proper wheelchair securement equipment and process.
- Perform pre and posttrip vehicle inspections
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle
- Communicate effectively with passengers and dispatch as needed
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
Ability to pass criminal background checks, DOT physical and drug screen and also DOT Clearinghouse check.
Experience:
- Previous experience in wheelchair passenger commercial bus driving.
- Ability to lift heavy objects when necessary
- Experience with paratransit bus driving.
- Strong customer service skills
- Must have valid CDL class C or higher driver's license with a clean driving record, passenger endorsement and no N1 or N2 restrictions.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
