Rochester Midland Corporation is searching for an Accounts Receivable Specialist for their Ogden, NY location.  The AR Specialist applies payments to customer accounts, processes other necessary adjustments, and communicates with customers and customer service centers regarding account questions and problems.

Rochester Midland Corporation (RMC) is a leading manufacturer and global supplier of specialty chemicals for food, sanitation, water treatment, legionella control, facility maintenance, restroom odor control and industrial cleaning. 

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be responsible for: 

  • Acting as a liaison between customer and appropriate internal departments regarding service complaints, contract change requests, cancellation of services, new management updates, payment discrepancies, tax exemptions, invoice/address changes, and requests for credits or refunds, insurance/W9/etc., service reports, certifications, and/or contracts
  • Posting customer checks and adjustments to the automated receivables system, daily
  • Endorsing checks and perform computer remote deposit
  • Researching check deductions and notifies sales ops team, as appropriate
  • Contacting customers regarding account questions requiring resolution, daily
  • Preparing correspondence for customers and sales representatives, as necessary
  • Collecting on all open invoices in all databases
  • Issuing credit card payments for processing
  • Confirming ACH deposits
  • Sending out notices and track suspended properties
  • Maintaining up to date contact information for collecting open invoices 


Education or special licenses: 

  • Knowledge of basic clerical accounting processes and the use of a personal computer

 

Experience: 

  • Three to five years in AR, some accounting experience and excel knowledge is preferred

 

Skills:

  • Working level knowledge of business office procedures including telephone skills and use of a personal computer and related software applications     
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Work, Excel, and Access)
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills including ability to prioritize 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with people at all organizational levels
  • Strong mathematical/ statistical analyses 
  • Strong Microsoft Office & computer navigation skills
