Rochester Midland Corporation (RMC) is a leading manufacturer and global supplier of specialty chemicals for food, sanitation, water treatment, legionella control, facility maintenance, restroom order control and industrial cleaning. The Business Development Manager leads initiatives aimed at acquiring new clients and expanding in target markets. This role is pivotal in driving RMC’s growth strategy by identifying new opportunities, building strong client relationships, and delivering customized solutions that meet customer needs for our WellBeing hygiene service & products & Commercial & Institutional, Water Treatment divisions.
As a Business Development Manager, you will focus on the following key functions:
- Proactively identify, research, and target new business opportunities across key markets and industries.
- Develop and execute innovative strategies to open new revenue streams for RMC.
- Build relationships with prospective clients to understand their needs, challenges, and objectives.
- Present RMC’s value propositions effectively, focusing on our expertise in water treatment, hygiene solutions, and sustainable practices.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts to identify areas of growth.
- Work closely with marketing to refine go-to-market strategies for new sectors or geographies.
- Lead the end-to-end sales cycle for new business opportunities, from lead generation to deal closure.
- Develop and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and solutions to potential clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, product management, and operations, to align solutions with customer needs.
- Coordinate with marketing to support campaigns targeting new customer acquisition.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activities, prospects, and deals in CRM systems.
- Regularly report on key performance metrics, including leads generated, pipeline health, and revenue contributions.
EDUCATION/ SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or commensurate applicable experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of proven success in business development, sales, or account management, in chemical sectors.
- Must have 5 water treatment sales experience.
- Demonstrated ability to close new business deals and meet growth targets.
