SUMMARY
The Front End Revenue Cycle Educator position educates front end users on the expected standards for key deliverables including but not limited to; patient experience, quality care, fiscal responsibility and team member satisfaction. Provides ongoing education and acts as a resource for front end users. Consistently supports front end revenue cycle scorecard metrics and ensures they are met. The Educator supports the organization best practices; develops an action plan for those areas in which best practices are unable to be followed. In working with the leadership, the educator will identify areas of probable concern and opportunities for optimization either requiring request for change or a modification in workflow. Will be able to recognize and escalate inappropriate workflows in order to stop downstream complications.

LOCATION: Canton - Potsdam Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Patient Access Services
SCHEDULE: 8 Hour shift
ATTRIBUTES
Preferred: 3 years’ experience with Care Connect or EMR,
Preferred: Associate’s Degree or equivalent
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Required: 3 years previous experience in office operations or Patient Access operations
RESPONSIBILITES
Is a resource to the Ambulatory departments to answer questions and troubleshoot system problems that relate to front end revenue cycle curriculum.
Continues to create and update educational tools to supplement Care Connect training and standard system upgrades.
Orients new team members to standard expectations of the Access Associate Role.
Provides classroom, or one on one support to identified team members.
Acts as a resource for questions regarding standardized workflows.
Tracks and documents correlations in gaps of training and workflows
Supports best practices to help meet revenue cycle metrics scorecard.
In collaboration with Corporate Compliance, Site Leadership and FERC/Patient Access Leadership, ensures that all regulatory procedures are followed.
For SLH system: Is a resource to the hospital admissions, switchboard, pre-access services, and HOD departments to answer questions and troubleshoot system problems that relate to front end revenue cycle curriculum.
The educator is an expert on standardized workflows for front end processes:
Scheduling, Recalls, Wait list
Registration and Insurance verification
Point of Service Collections and Cash Handling
Referrals, Orders and Authorizations
Charge Capture and Reconciliation
In-basket management and Telephone Encounters, Switchboard Operations
HIM and Data Integrity
Switchboard operations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
PAY RANGE: $20.00 - $28.00
