Job Title: Patient Representative
Department: Oncology
Location: Canton Potsdam Cancer Center
Hours Per Week: Per Diem; *Training is full time for about 6 weeks; then moves to as needed.
Schedule: Monday to Friday; Days (variable shifts)
SUMMARY:
Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) modules and other office equipment to perform all clerical tasks in an efficient and timely manner. Works in collaboration with physicians (MD, DO), Physician Assistants (PA), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), and Nurse Practitioner (NP).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform clerical duties, support providers, assist with billing inquiries, and ensure accurate documentation in the EMR.
Maintain professional interactions, manage referrals, and assist with patient education as needed.
Collect payments, balance cash drawers, resolve discrepancies, and optimize supply use.
Follow accreditation, state, and federal healthcare standards while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Assist with clerical issues, process improvements, problem-solving, and participate in training.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Medical Terminology
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
PAY RANGE: $18.70 - $27.44
