Works efficiently and pleasantly in an open kitchen. Follows recipes and instructions to ensure that targeted food costs are not exceeded. Follows safe kitchen practices to avoid time/temperature abuse and potential food contamination. Maintains a clean and professional appearance of both self and work space. Orders and receives product for the store. Interacts with our customers. Follows all policies and procedures.

Reports to Cafe Manager
Hourly: 20 - 40 hours per week
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED
Restaurant experience preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of food prep and line cooking a plus

Essential Responsibilities

• Arrive on time and work scheduled hours; available to work morning, evening and weekend hours
• Provide outstanding customer service by being aware of and respectful of customer needs, answering the phone in a professional manner, being friendly to customers
• Follow all business operations, policies, and procedures
• Assist customers over the phone and with special request/orders
• Perform kitchen opening and closing procedures
• Perform daily cleaning duties
• Follow recipes and instructions to ensure cost of goods does not exceed targets
• Work efficiently with focus on tasks at hand
• When supplies are getting low, make sure to note it on the order board
• Follow procedures for alerting the Kitchen Manager of low supplies so we don't run out of anything
• Receive and put away orders
• Keep the kitchen as neat and clean as possible during store hours
• Download the Slack app. You will be invited to join. This is our communication board, which you will nee to check regularly
• Notify Cafe Manager and/or Owner immediately of any emergency situation
• Communicate effectively and kindly with your co-workers and manager
• Help to keep stockroom organized and clean
• Communicate customers' comments and suggestions to the manager
• Proactively think about ways to improve the store for the community and your own job satisfaction and communicating those suggestions to a Manager in a professional manner
• Prepare morning pastries

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk (including up and down stairs) for various lengths of time throughout the day

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
