With a growing network of dental practices across five states, Rock Dental Brands is looking for a data driven and laser focused IT Support Specialist to join our team.
Summary:
The IT Support Specialist is a multifaceted role providing technical support, systems administration, and project assistance within the organization's IT infrastructure. This position requires a blend of hands-on technical skills, problem-solving abilities, strong communication, and a commitment to cybersecurity best practices, particularly regarding sensitive data like PHI. Experience in a dental or healthcare setting is highly valued.
Primary Duties:
- Systems Analysis & Design: Research and evaluate hardware, software, and systems specifications to meet organizational and user needs. Conduct site surveys and recommend equipment upgrades, replacements, and usage.
- Infrastructure Management: Troubleshoot, configure, manage databases, and repair network, phone infrastructure, asset/ticket management systems, and remote access systems.
- Vendor Management: Communicate with vendors to obtain product updates and negotiate best pricing for equipment.
Assisting Duties:
- Provide network, hardware, software, and user support via phone, email, and in-person.
- Test and update new software versions.
- Respond to telephone calls, emails, and tickets for technical support.
- Troubleshoot printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices.
Responsibilities:
- Log and track support requests in the ticketing system, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up.
- Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate IT support teams or vendors.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software.
- Assist with network infrastructure setup and maintenance, including Wi-Fi and VPN.
- Provide user training and support on software applications and IT systems.
- Maintain a knowledge base of common technical issues and solutions.
- Collaborate with IT staff and departments for seamless IT service delivery.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant IT trends and technologies, especially in the dental industry.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of IT Help Desk experience.
- Troubleshooting experience with Windows devices.
- Troubleshooting experience with Google Workspace (Preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge in applicable technology areas.
- Analytical and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
- Knowledge of commonly used help desk concepts, practices, and procedures.
- General understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Cybersecurity Focus Requirements:
- Understanding of the role's responsibility in protecting sensitive data (PHI, PII, PCI).
- Ability to prevent and detect security incidents through monitoring and analysis of data and systems.
- Ability to implement security best practices to protect against existing and emerging threats.
Location: This role requires full time participation at our state of the art facility in Little Rock, AR. No remote work options are available.
