JOB SUMMARY:

Rock of Ages, a division of Polycor, has an immediate opening for a CNC Operator. The CNC Operator sets up and operates stone-cutting machinery. Duties include studying blueprints, loading/unloading of parts and programs, and performing regular maintenance on their machinery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for daily production of multiple CNC machines by means of loading/unloading parts, part inspection, troubleshooting, and routine machine maintenance.
• Read and interpret blueprints & drawings.
• Must have excellent basic math /shop math skills. Familiar with metric/standard conversion.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of basic measuring tools, such as: micrometers, calipers, tape measures, indicators, and gauges.
• Maintain quality and safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Other duties as assigned to meet operational and production objectives.

OTHER CAPABILITIES

• Possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail.
• Be able to lift 50 lb. with varying frequency.
• Must have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions.
• The goal is to ensure effective production and optimize procedures.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and familiarity with machining concepts, procedures and practices.
• Must be willing to work overtime hours, as needed.
• Working knowledge of Alpha-CAM and SolidWorks are a plus.
