Survey Manager

A leading provider of surveying, geomatics, and civil engineering services, specializing in transportation and water resource projects is looking for a Survey Manager. Manage a team that leverages cutting-edge technologies like mobile and terrestrial LiDAR and hydrographic surveys to deliver high-quality, precise solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Project Management :

Oversee and manage survey projects, particularly with the NCDOT and SCDOT .

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality control measures.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Data Collection and Analysis :

    • Use Trimble GNSS systems , Riegl RiProcess software , TopoDOT software , GIS , and hydrographic survey techniques for data collection and processing.

  • Analyze collected data to meet project deliverables.
  • Technology Adoption and Implementation :

    • Employ evolving technologies (e.g., mobile LiDAR , hydrographic survey techniques ) and apply them to traditional methods.

  • Team Supervision and Training :

    • Train and supervise team members in using high-tech and traditional survey equipment and software.

  • Equipment Maintenance :

    • Ensure survey equipment is maintained and calibrated properly.

  • Technical Support :

    • Provide expertise to resolve complex survey issues.

  • Reporting :

    • Prepare and review survey reports, maps, and other deliverables.

    Key Skills :

  • Surveying and Technology Proficiency :

    • Extensive experience with Trimble GNSS , Riegl RiProcess , TopoDOT software , and hydrographic survey techniques .

  • Knowledge of mobile LiDAR , static LiDAR, coordinate systems, and custom projections.
  • Experience with hydraulics and hydrology (H&H) analysis and modeling is preferred.
  • Leadership and Team Management :

    • Strong leadership skills to manage teams and handle project management tasks.

  • Communication and Collaboration :

    • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders (project managers, engineers, etc.).

  • Industry Knowledge :

    • Knowledge of NCDOT and SCDOT standards and practices.

  • Problem-Solving :

    • Ability to provide solutions for complex survey-related challenges

    Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, Geomatics , Civil Engineering , or a related field.
  • Licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in North and South Carolina or the ability to obtain within six months.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mobile LiDAR and hydrographic survey operations , with a focus on transportation and water resources projects.
