Nursery Attendant
Position Summary
The Nursery Attendant provides supervision in the church nursery for children ages six months through 5 years old. Must agree to a background check. Typical working hours include two hours per week on Sundays from Labor Day to Memorial Day; 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and two hours per week on Sundays from Memorial Day to Labor Day; 9:00 a.m. to 11 :00 a.m. The Nursery Coordinator is a member of the Christian Education committee and reports to the Pastor as Head of Staff.
Duties and responsibilities
- Direct the activities in the nursery during Worship and other special services as necessary
- Maintain orderly and safe environment for children
- Clean and sanitize the nursery at the end of each session and as necessary
- Contact Nursery Coordinator if unable to work as scheduled
- All other duties as assigned
Necessary skills, knowledge and abilities
- Must be mature, patient and friendly
- Must possess the ability to relate to children and their parents
Qualifications
- Prefer certification in Early Childhood or equivalent experience
- Experience working with infants and young children
- First Aide, CPR, Certifications
- Commited to Christian faith and life
Compensation
The Nursery Coordinator shall be paid bi-weekly at an hourly rate to be set by the Personnel Committee and in consultation with the Session. The salary will be reviewed annually by the Personnel Committee and presented to the congregation in the annual budget.
Evaluation
The Personnel Committee will conduct an initial 90-day performance review and annually thereafter.
