Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of the hospital’s quality, risk, and compliance programs.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to prevent and mitigate potential risks to patients, staff, and the organization.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of patient complaints, incidents, adverse events, and near-misses, ensuring that corrective actions are taken.
- Collaborate with department heads to establish quality performance indicators and monitor performance metrics.
- Provide ongoing training and education to staff on quality, risk management, and compliance practices.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and senior leadership.
- Assist administration and leadership with preparation for regulatory surveys, inspections, and accreditation reviews
- Act as a resource for hospital staff on compliance-related matters, offering guidance and support to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and compliance initiatives, making recommendations for improvement as necessary.
- Develop and implement continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives to improve patient care, reduce risks, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date on healthcare regulations, trends, and best practices to ensure the hospital remains compliant and operationally efficient.
- Work closely with the hospital leadership team to ensure that quality and risk management priorities align with organizational goals.
