Floor Tech -Assigned Building
Reports to: Team Leader, Floor Tech Supervisor and Area Supervisor
Summary of Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs Floor work and special cleaning assignments in offices, warehouses, industrial areas, and other building interiors/exteriors in assigned buildings.
Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, strips, waxes and polishes floors using industrial machines. Cleans carpet with vacuum cleaners and by carpet cleaning bonneting system process. Assist janitorial staff with sanitizing restrooms, empties trash, on occasion using ladders, and dusts and washes walls, ceilings, and dusts and polishes light fixtures. Washes and replaces blinds. Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas. May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, upholstery and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. May also sweep walks, remove snow, power wash, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
1. Must have accurate knowledge of floor stripping, waxing and buffing.
2. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in floor and custodial work.
3. Must have the ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong-to recognize problems when they occur and to work toward the solution to the problems.
4. Must follow the instructions from the Team Leader and Floor Tech Supervisor at all times. Be respectful to all coworkers and clients.
5. Must arrive to work on time and only leave when the work is complete.
6. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
7. Must be able to handle difficult situations and persons in a positive and professional manner.
8. Must be able to work independently in absence of the Team Leader or Floor Tech Supervisor.
9. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product labeling. Must be able to fill out floor work sheets neatly to turn in at the completion of a job.
10. Must wear all protective gear when stripping and waxing floors. (Protective shoes, slip guards, masks, goggles, and hazmat suits).
11. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
