Rockaway Home Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced PCA Training Program Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse licensed in the state of New York, and have a background in teaching or working in home health care. This role involves instructing Personal Care Aides (PCA) in both one-day and two-week training classes, conducting student interviews, grading tests, and evaluating students' skill s.
You must be available to work weekends. If you speak Spanish, that is a plus.
Key Responsibilities :
Instruct PCA training classes in English or Spanish (one-day classes or two-week sessions)
Conduct interviews with prospective students to assess their suitability for the program
Grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' understanding and progress
Provide practical skill evaluations to ensure students meet required competencies
Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
Offer support and guidance to students throughout their training
Qualifications :
Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of New York
Experience teaching home health or personal care aides, or working as a nurse or aide in a home health agency
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment
Commitment to high standards of education and student success
Preferred Qualifications :
Previous experience as a PCA or HHA (home health aide) instructor
Familiarity with New York State home health care regulations and standards
Previous experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nursing Instructor, Nursing Faculty, Nurse Educator, Nurse Instructor, Online Nursing Instructor, School Nurse, Registered Nurse, RN Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Director, Nurse Manager, Nursing / Nurse, Nurse management experience and PCA management )
