Compensation Range : $43,642 - $91,830 per year. Placement on the salary schedule is based on verified, comparable education and experience. For more information on range placement, please review the REA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION :

The primary responsibility of the Title I Teacher is to teach students in specialized core academic center area groups. This specialist utilizes the most effective practices in the teaching and assessment of core academic content areas to immerse each child in a rich academic environment which capitalizes on his / he strengths and works toward academic achievement in reading and math. He / she models excellent teaching strategies, ensuring implementation of state and district curriculum standards. The teacher will collaborate with building and district level colleagues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
  • Carries out such additional duties as required or as conditions necessitate.
  • Delivers effective instruction to specifically targeted students, identified through assessment procedures, from their current level to an optimal level of performance, in core academic content areas. A minimum of 60% of the Title I Teacher's time is spent in direct instruction with students.
  • Collaborates with classroom teachers to improve core academic area performance by implementing strategies needed by individual underachieving students. They will collaborate with building level colleagues up to 30% of available time, using research-based and district-wide "best practices."
  • Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job. Up to 10% of available time will be spent in partnership with district MTSS, Title I, and / or school improvement departments.
  • Provides an instructional environment which incorporates equity of instruction principles and current educational research findings and understandings of core curriculum content areas.
  • Implements district curriculum which meets all state and district standards for curriculum content areas.
  • Immerses each child in a rich academic environment which capitalizes on his / her strengths and works toward academic achievement in reading and math.
  • Assesses student progress in core curriculum content areas by providing parents / guardians, building administrators, and district administrators with meaningful data on each student's academic progress.
  • Develops and implements activities in collaboration with responsibilities outlined by district curriculum and ESSA goals.
  • Assumes any other duties as may from time to time be delegated in keeping with federal and state regulations and guidance.
  • All actions must be in concert with the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Appropriate Teacher certification; additional hours in reading and math preferred.

    Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.

    Stooping - Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

    Kneeling - Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

    Crouching - Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

    Crawling - Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.

    Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

    Standing - Particularly for sustained periods of time.

    Walking - Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.

    Pulling - Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

    Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and required the substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.

    Finger use - Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with the fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.

    Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers or palm.

    Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word. Those activities in which you must convey detailed or spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly .

    Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sounds. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sounds such as when making fine adjustments on machinery.

    Repetitive Motions - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and / or fingers.

    The Physical Requirements of the Position (Check one)

    Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary Work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and / or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rate for Light Work.
