Rockhill Orthopedics Certified Medical Assistant/ Medical Scribe
Position Description: The candidate is responsible for ensuring efficient flow of patients through the health care setting by facilitating examination and treatment of patients in a culturally sensitive manner with exceptional customer service; contributes to patient care by preparing patient for visit, performing limited procedures, scheduling diagnostic test or consults, maintaining patient records, organizing clinic/exam rooms, maintaining supply/equipment inventory, and/or assisting physicians, other medical staff, nurses, other interdisciplinary team members and support staff. This position is full time at our Lee's Summit location.
Qualifications:
Education: Certified Medical Assistant
Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Scribe
Job Duties:
- Experience as a medical scribe-entering both internal and external orders
- Entering vital signs, patient medical histories, allergies, medications, etc. into EMR
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
- Accurately schedules radiology tests; obtains films and reports; and prepares laboratory specimens according to policy.
- Assists physicians and/or mid-level providers with special procedures and examinations as defined on competency checklist.
- Answer patient phone calls
- Demonstrate home exercises
- Assist with DME
- Assist with cast/splint removal, suture removal and/or dressing changes as needed, dependent on patient daily demand.
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms; stocks assigned areas and ensures par levels of supplies are maintained.
- Any other job duties that might be requested by the doctors or management to help the office run efficiently.
Personal Characteristics: The candidate must be able to work with a variety of providers, in the healthcare setting. The candidate must be a detail-oriented person, who is proficient at entering patient obtained information into the medical record. Candidate must be able to function in a team setting, be detail oriented, computer literate and possesses excellent customer service skills.
